For a while now, I’ve kept the bajo y clave project focused on Afro-Cuban rhythms, but I’m feeling like it’s time to open things up. Brazilian music has played a big part in Latin Jazz, and it’s a music close to my heart, so I’d like to be exploring it. I’m starting things out with a little bit of Bossa Nova, solo bass style. I elected to leave the percussion out of this, trying to keep the groove right in the bass. I want to stretch out and jam a bit, so I’ve pulled some chords from a very familiar bit of Brazilian Jazz – let me know if you recognize it! This was pretty fun to put together – enjoy a little Bossa Jam!
